SCHOLARSHIP REPORT

Each spring, the Colorado Masons' Benevolent Fund committee awards scholarships to top Colorado high school graduates who are continuing their education in Colorado.  Since this program started in 1967, over $7.0 million have been awarded to more than 650 of Colorado's finest youth!  Scholarship application packages should be in the hands of the school counselors by November 2006.  Shortly thereafter, the applicant is instructed to arrange for an interview by contacting the Lodge directly.  Once we are contacted, we will begin setting up interview appointments with the students.  Deadline for the application is March 2007.

Colorado Masons Benevolent Funds Scholarship 2004

Brock Fitzgerald Ewing

Mr. Ewing will be attending the University of Colorado in the fall to pursue a degree in Engineering. He chose CU because it is one of the top rated engineering schools in the country. "I hope to enter a career where I can apply what I have studied in a manner that is beneficial to society. I may also like to enter Christian ministry as my parents have done."

While in high school Brock participated in football, baseball and organized a school sponsored ping-pong club. He is very active in the community and his church. He is a member of the Snow Camp work crew, participated in the Thanksgiving COMPA food drive and has acted as a Youth baseball assistant coach.

"Thank you for selecting me as a recipient for your Benevolent Fund Scholarship. I feel that obtaining it is crucial to achieve my goals and aspirations for the future."

Brock's quest for this scholarship began with an interview by officers of his sponsoring Masonic Lodge, Friendship Lodge No. 185 in Denver, Colorado.
